On June 9, 2025, Tradercodes, LLC (“Defendant”) was sued in the Northern District of Georgia for allegedly violating the Do Not Call (“DNC”) provisions of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”). The National DNC registry was enacted by the federal government under the authority granted to it by the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”). The TCPA generally prohibits companies from placing telemarketing calls to consumers who have registered their telephone numbers on the DNC registry. In Wilson v. Tradercodes, LLC, Plaintiff claims that she received two text messages on her cell phone requesting confirmation of an appointment to discuss Defendant’s stock guidance services. Plaintiff allegedly registered her phone number on the National DNC registry at least 31 days prior to receipt of the subject text messages. Plaintiff further alleges that Defendant had not obtained her consent to be contacted by phone…
The Rule of Law is not just a value, a tradition, or a preference. It is the operating principle of the United States government and the foundation upon which legal rights, public institution, and constitutional safeguard depend. The Rule of Law in the United States does not mean that laws are always fair. It does not mean that legal outcomes are always just. It means that law, rather than arbitrary power, determines how authority is exercised. It means that no person is above the law. [One of the Orders calls on federal agencies to use the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition, which would label certain criticisms of Israel as anti-Semitic.] From Monday's decision by Judge Douglas Harpool (W.D. Mo.) in McClanahan v. Trump, which I think reaches the correct result: On December 11, 2019, President Donald Trump issued Executive Order 13899, directing federal agencies to use the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance ("IHRA") definition of antisemitism in enforcing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. On January 29, 2025, President Trump issued Executive Order 14188 titled Additional Measures to Combat Anti-Semitism. It states that it shall be the policy of the United States to combat anti-Semitism vigorously, using all available and appropriate legal tools, to prosecute, remove, or otherwise hold to account the perpetrators of unlawful anti-Sematic harassment and violence. Plaintiff alleges Executive Order 14188 orders the…

(Photo by ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images)There’s a point where every person who is a fan of Kanye West’s music has to come to terms with recognizing that dude’s a Nazi. For some it was when Alex Jones of all people had to tell him to chill out on the “Hitler had redeemable qualities” claims. For others it was the track HH — those two Hs stand for exactly what you think they do. Playing anything that Ye has recently put out will get you side-eyed for many things, one of them likely being his Nazi sympathizing. You could play something from Graduation and earlier, but you will still get side-eyed. Which brings us to Elon Musk. There’s a point where every person that owns a Tesla has to come to terms with recognizing that Elon is very comfortable with Nazis. For some it was when he cozied up with the AfD or when he sieg-gave-his-heart-out shortly after Donald Trump’s re-election. Driving around in a Tesla after everything Musk…

by Joshua Walker, CodeX Co-Founder and Fellow If one is looking for a self-echoing diatribe against a single group or party: look elsewhere. This article may be a critique—but a critique of all of us. A collective challenge—and thus the opposite of an “echo”. This is rather a technical analysis of why the contemporary governmental attempt to make America governance more efficient has failed. (Like analyzing data from a rocket that exploded. To improve our next launch, we must analyze empirically. And optimized governance is many orders of magnitude more complex than rocket science.[1]) Has it? Has it failed? Well, DOGE’s inceptional dare was to shave two trillion dollars off of the U.S. government’s budget. Then, as it got organized: one trillion. Now, the claimed outcome was reducing the budget in a few months by $180 billion dollars (presumably, an annual savings)—though…
On June 1, 2025, New Jersey officially joined 13 other states participating in the wage transparency trend. Governor Phil Murphy signed the New Jersey Pay and Benefit Transparency Act (NJPBTA or the Act) this past November, requiring employers with 10 or more employees in the state to disclose compensation and benefits information on postings for new “job postings and transfer opportunities” in New Jersey. The particulars of the Act have been discussed in greater depth in a previous blog post. For applicable employers, any postings for New Jersey positions published on or after June 1, 2025, must include: the hourly wage or salary, or a range of the hourly wage or salary for the position; and a general description of benefits and other compensation programs for which the employee would be eligible. Employers are also required to make reasonable efforts to advertise internally for promotional and transfer opportunities that are not based on years…
